On North Creek, four miles north of Virgin.


HISTORY

In 1861, Joel H. Johnson built a saw mill along the creek.

The Johnson family was joined by other families in 1863. The community raised stock and grew various crops
including grapes, other fruits, and various cereals.

A Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized in 1863. Presiding Elders of that
Branch included:
    Joel H. Johnson   (1863-1869)
    Owen Isom   (1869-1874)
    Jorgen C. Petersen   (1874-1883)
    William Isom   (1883-1898)
    Samuel Isom   (1898-1901)
About 1901, the Branch was dissolved and the Church members in Mountain Dell became part of
the Virgin Ward.
