He raised his family there.The house was torn down January 13, 1987, BIOGRAPHYJoseph S. Worthen came to St. George in 1862. He was a stone mason and builder. Many of the homes in this valley show the skilled workmanship of this man and his sons. They were experts in building basements and foundations of the black rock found in nearby hills.
