The St. George Utah Dixie Downs Stake was formed on August 25, 1991 when it was split off from the Santa Clara Utah Stake. This was the 1814th stake formed in the LDS church.The name was changed from the St. George Utah Dixie Downs Stake to the St. George Utah Snow Canyon Stake.
