HISTORY
In 2000, ground-breaking took place for a new five story, 144 bed hospital on River Road which retained the name, Dixie Regional Medical Center.The new facility opened in 2003. It greatly advanced healthcare in the tri-state region. Among the new services the hospital was able to add were open heart surgery, acute rehabilitation, and newborn intensive care. The old DRMC Hospital was retained as a supplementary 400 East Campus.
